How to Get a Rush Order Bridal Veil

I hate to ask the question: Are you in a panic to find a veil at the last minute because your wedding is in three weeks or less?

Not to worry! Classic Veils offers a rush delivery option on all our bridal veils … even custom orders like the one from my wedding story above.

Although we can’t unconditionally guarantee a rush shipment (we don’t operate the shipping carrier after all), there is a good chance that you will receive your order in time just like I did. Unforeseen circumstances like snowy weather shutting down airport and road transportation can happen. Just a word of warning for you.

Please note that you must be located in the US for a rush shipment.

** I apologize to international customers, but we do not offer a rush option at this time **

Rush Order Fee

If you select the rush order option, it is guaranteed that your order will be sent within 2 business days (Monday – Friday) after the date of the order. This does not include the time that it will take to reach you. The fee for a rush shipment is $20.

If you are in a real panic and pressed for time, additional shipping upgrades may be an option.

Fastest Shipping

It costs a bit more money for our quick shipping option. However, if you are in a crunch and in desperate need of a veil, I suggest spending a few more dollars on USPS 2 Day Shipping. The cost is $35.00 and you will receive your veil 2 days after the day the veil is processed. However if you are in a real pinch we also offer overnight shipping for $62.

Last Minute Bridal Veil Tale

I look back at my wedding that took place in 2014 and laugh. I have to laugh because it is utterly ironic that a veil company owner (me!) needed to place a last minute rush order for her wedding veil.

For all those brides out there who also need to buy a veil with little time to spare, my short story is below. I hope it provides you with some assurance that you can in fact get a rush veil order in time for your big day.

Although, I really don’t recommend you wait. Its one thing to forget, another thing to procrastinate and leave it to the last minute! Ideally, buy and receive your veil at least a month in advance of your wedding just to be on the safe side.

* * *

I love planning parties, and weddings are certainly the biggest party of them all! For me, the idea of planning a party is like taking a relaxing yoga class. Actually, I would rather plan a huge party than hold a bridge pose for 3 minutes. I digress …

When it comes to planning your first (and hopefully only) wedding, there are a few things that can easily be overlooked. The todo list for planning a wedding on your own can be long — and you may forget to purchase a few items!

Looking back now, it seems to be a bit of an ongoing joke – the fact that I placed my custom wedding veil order six days before my wedding ceremony. My husband and I still laugh about it from time to time.

Why did I wait so long?

I guess the simplest of things that seem so obvious can sometimes be overlooked. Ahem, like wanting to wear a custom bridal veil when you sell veils online through a shop called Classic Veils.

In any event, a few months prior I was downsized from an insurance industry job and I had just started my own wedding company. Around the same time, I decided it was a good idea to acquire a wedding blog (Love & Lavender). Oh, and then I also thought,‘Hey, I should plan a surprise 30th anniversary party for my parents … the same week as my wedding!’

Taking on too much at once was probably an understatement.

As my wedding date approached all the other wedding planning stress and priorities took hold — venue, catering, cake, wedding gown, etc.

Except that I forgot to order my custom veil.

How I realized I needed a veil, pronto

It was five days before my wedding on Sunday, August 10th. I remember it was 7:48 p.m. and something in the back of my mind was nagging at me.

One of my favorite movies is Home Alone – a classic holiday flick that I watch almost every year around Christmas time. And so, just like in the scene where Kevin McCallister’s parents are sitting on the plane and suddenly realize they forgot their son at home by himself, out of no where I had a similar flash of panic in my mind:

“THE VEIL!”

I may or may not have actually yelled that out whilst standing in my kitchen.

Either way, I rushed over to my laptop to place an order with my custom veil manufacturer, praying that they would be able to help me when they re-opened the next day.

On Monday morning they reassured me they could make the veil and that it would be shipped on Wednesday. I had the option of the veil arriving by Friday, or upgrading shipping to Express Mail in order to arrive by Thursday.

I’ve been known to buy a few scratch tickets in my day, but I wouldn’t consider myself a gambler. I think my bride on a budget mentality kicked in, and I chose to push my luck by not upgrading to express post.

Backup Veil Plan

I had a whole bunch of sample veils sitting around our apartment, but I knew that I wanted a custom veil to walk down the aisle.

Should the veil not arrive in time for my ceremony, my only back up plan was for my fiancee and his brother (the best man) to drive 40 minutes to my parent’s house with my hoard of sample veils. They actually did end up driving out that morning, and we found out later on that the bag they had brought didn’t have any of the sample veils in it at all!

Eek, I was almost a bride with no veil.

Custom Drop Veil Received

As it turned out, the custom order was placed on August 11th, shipped on August 13th, and in my hand the morning of my wedding day on August 15, 2014 at 9:24 am. As you can see from the two photos below, my drop veil arrived in the nick of time!
